About Fastnades

Fastnades is a community-built library of Counter-Strike 2 grenade lineups. Members submit the throws they use, staff review each one before it goes live, and everything is anchored to the map's radar so you can find a throw by where it lands or by where you happen to be standing.

The problem it exists to solve

Learning a grenade lineup from a video means scrubbing back and forth hunting the two seconds that actually contain the information: where the player is standing, and what their crosshair is on. Everything else in the video — the intro, the explanation, the result you already know — is between you and that. And once you find it, you cannot keep it on screen while you set the throw up in game.

So a lineup here is not a video. It is a fixed sequence of stills captured in-game: a wide shot for orientation, the exact standing position, the crosshair alignment, a zoomed crop of that alignment for the fine adjustment, and the result. You step through them at your own pace and match your screen to each one.

Everything is anchored to a radar

Every lineup sits on its map's radar twice — once at the throwing position, once at the landing point — and both ends are clickable. Searching from the landing point is the obvious direction and every lineup resource supports it. Searching from where you are standing is the one that matches how a round actually goes, and it is the reason the radar is the primary interface here rather than a list of video titles.

How submissions work

  1. Any member with a verified account can submit a lineup. You capture the frames in game and place the throw position and target on the radar.
  2. The submission enters a moderation queue. Staff review it for accuracy, image quality and duplication before it becomes public.
  3. Once approved it gets a permanent per-map reference number, appears on the radar, and is indexed under its map, its grenade and the callout it lands on.
  4. Members can then verify it works or flag it broken, comment on it, and save it. Editing your own lineup sends it back through review.

Near-duplicate submissions are rejected automatically: a throw within a very small radius of an existing one for the same target and grenade is the same lineup, and a radar covered in near-identical pins helps nobody.

Keeping it accurate

Counter-Strike 2 changes. Maps get reworked, grenade behaviour gets tuned, and a lineup that was perfect last season can land a metre short after a patch. There is no way to prevent that, so instead every lineup records the CS2 patch it was last tested on and carries verified and broken votes from members who have actually thrown it. Reading those before you build a round around a throw is part of using the site properly.
