CS2 Utility Guides

Written guides on how Counter-Strike 2 utility actually behaves, and how to turn that into throws you can hit under pressure. These sit alongside the lineup library: the library tells you where to stand, these explain why the throw is worth making and how to stop missing it.

Why these are separate from the lineups

A lineup page answers one question: where do I stand and what do I line my crosshair up with. Repeating the theory behind it on every one of hundreds of lineup pages would help nobody and say the same thing hundreds of times. So the mechanics live here once, written properly, and the lineup pages link to them.

These are written against live CS2

Counter-Strike 2 changed how smoke behaves, how sub-tick input is registered, and what a jump-throw bind has to look like. Anything written for CS:GO is partially wrong now, which is why these were written from scratch rather than carried over. Where a number is approximate it is written as approximate — Valve does not publish exact values for most of them, and they move between updates.
